Clean-The-Cape-Event-Day
April 1 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am
The NWNA is again partnering with Waste Pro, Keep Lee County Beautiful, and the City of Cape Coral to help make our city beautiful again. On the Great American Cleanup Day, April 1, 2023, we will meet at Tropicana Park to conduct our next Clean-the-Cape event. For those of you familiar with the NWNA, you’ll know we have conducted these “trash bashes” for 25 years +. This year it is more important than ever to keep the effort going!
At 8:30 a.m. on April 1 at the future Tropicana Park site, we will gather our volunteers, make suggested cleanup assignments, hand out t-shirts (while supplies last), trash bags, and safety supplies, and answer any questions participants may have.
Then, we'll get to work collecting trash throughout the morning and disposing of it in the dumpsters at Tropicana Park. Bulk items should be brought to the Bulk Waste Center at 1200 Kismet Parkway. Note that the bulk-drop off-site entrance is off NW 14th Avenue, at the western portion of the complex.
We will reconvene at 11:30 a.m. for some neighborly conversation and hopefully a pizza party as we have done in the past.
This is also a great opportunity for students and others needing community service hours!
If you have a team who would like to focus on canal and waterway cleanup, please let us know so we can arrange for assistance and dumpsters near the waterways.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES, A LIMITED SUPPLY OF WATER TO FILL THEM WILL BE AVAILABLE. YOU WILL WANT TO WEAR HATS, CLOSED-TOE SHOES, AND SUNSCREEN. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO BRING CHAIRS FOR THE PIZZA PARTY.
For planning and insurance purposes, please register yourself and your team at the following Registration Link and select the Tropicana Park location.
