City Council to select a new District 6 Council Member

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, the Cape Coral City Council will select a new District 6 Representative to serve in the seat vacated with the resignation of Mr. Williams. Based on the City Charter, Council has 30 days to select a candidate's replacement or a special election must be held. Fourteen candidates applied for the position inside the filing deadline of August 27, 2021. This chosen candidate will serve the remainder of Mr. Williams' term, until November of 2022, when the next general election is scheduled. Council Members and the Mayor have been interviewing the candidates in preparation for their vote on Wednesday.
